Information and Schedule for upcoming programs.

 

At the end of 2010, WCI initiated several focus group meetings regarding the content of the Lunch & Learn sessions.  We understand that these brief, informal meetings are beneficial to our members and we wanted to maximize their benefit to you, our members.

As a result of the focus group meetings, the ‘new and improved’ format for Lunch & Learn sessions will be:

  • HRCI recertification credits - No, this part isn’t new.  But since credit hours are important to you, we will continue to specifically structure these sessions so that recertification credits can apply.
  • What’s Happening with Health Care? - You told us that Health Care Reform legislation is complex to keep up with but important to you because of the significant expense to your business.  So, until we are all educated and accustomed to the new regulations, we will begin each meeting with an update to Health Care Reform.
  • In-depth focus topic - Members can submit their tougher questions on a particular subject matter in advance of the meeting and we will explore the answer together.
  • Round Table Discussion - Because studies show that adult learners indeed learn from other’s experiences, we will open the floor up so that participants can share how they have handled a similar situation in the past.  Many of our phone calls directly from members begin with, “How do other employers handle…..?”  Therefore, shared experiences are beneficial to understanding some of your options on the subject at hand.
  • Best Bang For Your Buck - There will now be a nominal fee for participation.  But, where else can you get lunch and an hour of training and / or recertification for under $20?
  • More frequent meetings - You asked for more frequent meetings…. You got it.  Beginning next year there will be five meetings at each location.
  • Option to participate in a webinar - Yes. There will be five webinars presented for those unable to attend the regular meetings.
  • Can I bring a friend - Yes.  Members will be able to bring a friend to one of the meetings.  The friend can attend one meeting per year.
  • Schedule and location - Dates and locations will be communicated via the NewsBrief, email, and posted on our website.  Reminders will also be sent via email.
