EXA Basic Factors

We have identified 30 basic factors that comprise an employee's total experience, and our EXA instrument measures them using the following statements.

Autonomy - 1. I am given the freedom to do my job within certain boundaries.

Teamwork - 2. I am encouraged to collaborate with my coworkers.

Challenge - 3. My work challenges me without stressing me out.

Job Fit - 4. My specific job is a great fit for me.

Satisfaction - 5. I get a great deal of satisfaction from my job.

Training & Support - 6. My supervisor provides me with the training and support I need.

Clear Instruction - 7. My supervisor gives me clear instructions and realistic expectations.

Fair Supervision - 8. My supervisor treats me fairly and demonstrates they care about me.

Appreciation - 9. My supervisor gives me positive feedback and/or appreciation.

Performance Coaching - 10. My supervisor coaches me to improve my performance.

Flexibility - 11. I have adequate work flexibility for my lifestyle.

Free Expression - 12. I am allowed to express myself freely and appropriately at work.

Recognition - 13. I am recognized at work when I do more than required.

Camaraderie - 14. I generally enjoy the people I work with, and we work well together.
